"Dunno. Train you I guess. Actually..." His fingers traced over the other two Pokeballs that hung off his belt, containing Axel, the recently evolved Swellow, and Lou, the Machop. "I think we're ready for a Gym battle."

When they arrived, Jace slipped off of Astarell and walked into the gym, looking around to check exactly how the battle field was.

Guthan sent out his Charmander to start. "You won't have to beat her to earn the badge, but if you'd like, I offer you the chance to challenge my Dragonite. Bear in mind, she was with me when I went for the championship, so she's quite formidable."

He smiled and nodded. "That sounds like it might be fun," he gripped one of his Pokeballs and tossed it to the ground. Flash. Axel was there, preening his feathers, the Pokeball bounced back to his hand.

Axel took the brunt of the attack, though he managed to dodge just a bit of it. He tore at the Charmander with a Steel Wing, using a Quick Attack to speed himself up.

Because of his natural resistance, Charmander easily stayed standing, using Tail Whip to counter, the flame of his tail coming right at Axel's wing.

The flame wisped against Axel's wing ever so slightly, though it caused him extreme pain since it was tender under the wing.
