Yes, she's a crossover. I did say I'm trying to cut down on them, but she's only the second crossover character (thus far). I love Kaleido Star. She's a random zapped person, but it's pretty much the same Earth as this one. So yeah. And, yes, she was born of two women. I swear this won't happen often. I just don't like any of the male leads from Kaleido Star to be her father. And she was inspired by a dream I had last night. There are acrobatic moves mentioned in her history, but I got videos for the visual reference. I know her whole history isn't her own, but since she's a crossover character, it's very important info. And on the "being born of two women" thing: it's being implied that her birth happened through magic if it isn't obvious. Not insulting your intelligence; just saying.
Name: Suki Hamilton
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Native or new arrival: New arrival (zap-ee)
Occupation: Lead lady at the Kaleido Stage (pre-zap)
Appearance: Just imagine her with a normal body type and brown eyes
History: Suki was a one-of-a-kind person, especially where she comes from. She was born of two famous women, Sora Naegino and Layla Hamilton, both renowned for their roles in the Kaleido Stage. Both her mothers completed the Mystic Act, which led to a severe injury which forced Layla to retire from the Kaleido Stage. Layla was made famous by her move the Golden Phoenix. Sora was made famous by the Angel's Act.
When Sora was about 29, Kalos, Kaleido Stage's owner, saw that Sora's body was beginning to deteriorate and let her know that. She agreed that her body wasn't as strong as it used to be. By this time, Layla was 32 and a very successful Broadway performer as well as movie actress. Sora gathered her things and flew out to New York to be with Layla, hoping she might be able to put good word in for her. Kathy, Lalya's manager, agreed to try Sora out for co-stars on Broadway with Lalya. The two, already quite famous, drew in large crowds and vast amounts of money. During this time, they grew even closer together than they had been in the past. They fell in love, though they kept it a secret.
One day, they were met by an old crone that asked for just a little bit of money. They both obliged and the woman said that if they wished for a child of their own blood, they would get it. She promptly seemed to vanish into thin air, leaving the two performers absolutely mystified.
About a month later, Layla noticed that she was getting sick and throwing up a lot. Worried, they went to the doctor's office and found out she was pregnant. The doctor wondered who the father could be. Sora and Layla discussed quietly who the "father" would be and came up with Yuri, Layla's partner before Sora on the Kaleido Stage. He and Layla were still close, so they asked him if he would pretend to be the father of Layla's baby. He agreed, saying he'd always loved Layla.
Nine months later, Suki arrived. They gave her the name meaning "beloved" because they both loved her. It was Sora's idea to give her a Japanese name because of Sora's Japanese roots. Layla agreed. It would be easy enough to explain away as a mother giving her child a name similar to her partner and best friend.
Suki grew up a very privileged life from the wealth her mothers had. Layla, in addition to being a huge star, was the heiress of Hamilton Hotels, one of the largest hotel chains in the world. She watched her mothers in awe as they performed both acrobatics and Broadway shows. Eventually, she learned about their history on the Kaleido Stage and wanted to follow in their footsteps. They both encouraged her, but Layla was the most vocal about it since her father had never accepted her love of the Kaleido Stage.
She trained and trained as long and hard as she could, going to the best trainers in the world. However, she found that some of the best trainers were the ones that taught publicly, so she was more often found in those classes than in private ones. She had a great many friends due to this and loved them all.
When she was fifteen, she finally went to Los Angeles to try out for the Kaleido Stage. She was easily the top among them due to her natural ability and her long hours of training. However, there was one girl almost as good as her. The two quickly became rivals, clashing often and everytime they could get. When it came time for a main role to be tried out, they went at it with tooth and nail. They ended up getting co-starring roles in Arabian Nights, a show that Suki's mothers had participated in. Suki got the main role, though. This pushed the other girl to become better.
During the production of Arabian Nights, Suki gained the ability to see Fool, the (somewhat perverted) Spirit of the Stage. Like Sora, he annoyed the hell out of Suki by constantly trying to have her take a bath. But she gratefully accepted the advice he had and did what she could with it, unlike Sora.
The other girl, Mira, also became able to see Fool. The two soon became friends, initially just because they could see him. But as they found out more about each other, they became closer and saw each other as invaluable partners. They ended up performing the Angel's Act together in the next show, Sleeping Beauty, with Mira as the Devil and Suki as the Angel. It was a few days after the final show of Sleeping Beauty that Suki was zapped to the Pokemon world.
Personality: Suki is an interesting blend of her mothers' personalities. She has the love of performing and of the Kaleido Stage that they both had when they were her age. She trains long, hard hours at her family home in LA so she can make every performance perfect. She knows her mothers will be proud no matter what, but she wants them to be as proud of her as possible. She loves the applause she gets from the audience and the spotlight. However, she often feels lonely if she doesn't have someone to share the applause with. She loves to be with others and get them to do everything they can. She hates conflict and does her absolute best to avoid it. This doesn't mean that she won't compete. If at all possible, she loves to compete more than her love of the Kaleido Stage. She's performed in Vancouver and the world renowned Circus Festival in France. At fourteen, she won with her "brother" (Yuri's son), doing the Golden Phoenix maneuver, but theirs was modified from Layla and Yuri's original.
