Name: Emma Skabolski (weird, yes, but it’s something different)
Age: 24 years old
Gender: Female
Appearance: Emma has brown hair, going an inch or two past her shoulders, that she usually keeps tied back in a braid. She wears a black, military style coat with silver buttons on both sides of the zipper atop a white tank top that is tucked into her blue-gray skinny jeans that lead to her ¾ calf high, black leather boots. She has icy blue eyes and pale skin.
Desired gym leader number: 8
Desired location: Forest
History: From a young age, Emma has been traveling around, due to her family’s constant moving, they soon ended up in Elvawyn She used to be happy-go-lucky up until she was eight, after that she went into her shell, seeing it as pointless to show any concern for anything. When she was ten years old she took up training Pokémon, seeing the trainer’s life as an escape from her home life (will be slowly revealed during Role Playing) and as a way to make money. She started off slow in her journey, having to scrape up cash in order to just get basic supplies and only one PokeBall. She traveled for a while without a Pokémon and soon came upon a Pinimi when she wandered toward the ocean. She and Pinimi faced off and she gave Pinimi the run around until she (Pinimi) was exhausted. Emma then took advantage and caught the baby seal. After that Pearl (Pinimi) and Emma began their climb upwards, gathering more friends along the way, and even more enemies. By the time she was sixteen Emma and Pearl (now an Otarmaru) were offered a gym position on Tahumori’s Crescent Island in Crescent City. They turned it down and continued to travel around.
Personality: Emma is blunt and to the point, hating having the run around. This is reflected through her battle style, where she focuses on speed and power. “Hot fast and hit hard.” Is her motto. She tends to be passive when confronted with questions or asked upon for advice. She thinks that people should be allowed to do as they please, learning from their mistakes and suffering the consequences for their actions and getting rewarded for their good deeds. Emma doesn’t really believe in religion, for reasons to be explained later, and is fascinated by science. She does appreciate nature and shows this through having a few plants around her home. Emma rarely leaves her home or her gym.
Pokémon: Pearl (Otarmaru, Female), Maraj (Gajiant, Male), Simba (Eskice, Male), Maya (Kodomai, Female), Tyro (Crekundo, Male)
Powers: None
Role-play example:
There the gym leader stood, where she stood, still on the other side of the dimly lit field, a random field emerging from the floor. Terra blinked as she saw the pillars and giant spikes of ice lock in place between them. Emma lifted her head, her blue eyes looking across the field. Terra shuddered, despite her vast experience; this gym leader sent her heart racing. It seemed those eyes pierced right through her.
“Tyro,” Emma said, her voice level as she tossed out the Dusk Ball.
“Cre~~~~!” the large crane Pokémon cried, flexing his wings before taking to the air, hovering above the shimmering field of ice.
Terra swallowed, her heart pounding within her chest. “Let’s go Ermint!” she called, sending out a PokeBall.
“Aerial Ace,” Emma said, snapping her fingers as she waved her hand to point at Ermint. Tyro dove with blinding speed, hitting Ermint before climbing back into the air.
Ermint stumbled backwards, crying out in pain. Terra looked at the leader, wondering if she would strike again. Emma just stood there, looking at Terra as is she was telling her “Your move, make it a good one.”
Terra nodded and looked up at Tyro quickly before looking at Ermint. “Ermint, Hail!” She called out. The large weasel’s blue eyes started growing as clouds gathered in the gym and began dropping chunks of ice down on them.
Interesting move… Emma thought, somewhat impressed, most opponents would have tried to attack straight away. She put her feelings aside. “Close Combat.” Tyro dove down once again and started berrading Ermint with a series of kicks and punches.
“Bullet Seed!” Terra called.
“Er-mint!” he cried, spitting out seeds from his mouth. Tyro winced and backed off. The crane blinked as a seed that had implanted itself on his chest sprouted vines and started spreading about him.
Emma was also taken aback, though it was slight. It wasn’t the first time that an opponent had mixed a Leech Seed in with a Bullet Seed. She smiled a bit, her heart starting to pump with the excitement, something she hadn’t felt in a long while.
“Blizzard, Ermint!” Terra shouted, snapping Emma out of her thoughts.
“Creeeeeeee!” Tyro wailed as the icy blast knocked him back, the Leech Seed’s vines constricting him.
“Now,” Terra called, punching the space before her, “Ice Punch!” Ermint dashed forward, his right paw shimmering with cold energy. He skidded to a stop, using the remaining momentum to swing his body forward, along with his paw. He hit Tyro square in his gut and sent him stumbling backwards once more.
Tyro winced as the Leech Seed continued to sap his strength and the hail pelting him. His fighting type classification was not aiding him from these assaults of ice based moves, his flying classification over shadowing it. Everything started turning red, slowly warping and turning to darkness. His knees buckled, he was out before he hit the icy floor.
“Your combination of moves was an impressive display,” Emma said, returning her teammate to his Dusk Ball. “It’s not often that I come across a trainer who will start by dwindling health and move into such a risky move such as blizzard.” Terra’s golden eyes brightened at the compliment. “However,” Emma said coldly, “Your challenge only gets harder from here, Tyro was my weakest partner.”
Terra’s heart skipped a beat as Emma gave her a chilling smile as she tossed out a Heavy Ball.
